About Mrs. McMath

Mrs. McMath was raised by hard working parents who valued education. They left their careers as chemists in the oil/gas industry to serve others. Her mother became a 7th grade science teacher and her father went into pastoring as a minister of education. She graduated from Broken Arrow High School and earned a degree in English Education from John Brown University.

 

She then spent two years in West Africa at a school in Bamako, Mali. She taught students reading and writing while enjoying the challenges and rewards of living in a third-world country. 

 

In 2009 she began working at the Owasso Seventh Grade Center as a language arts teacher. She has also taught drama, reading enrichment, and current events. She has a Master's degree from Northeastern State University in Education Administration. 

 

Her family includes her husband who is a realtor and son who attends Hodson Elementary.
