Election Day - April 5

There are three items of importance that relate to Owasso Public Schools on the April 5 ballot: a School Board election and two school bond propositions.

Each of the five members who serve on the Board of Education do so with a five-year term and every year there is a member whose seat is up for election. There are two candidates who have filed to run in this year’s election for the seat representing Ward 2. Whichever candidate wins a simple majority of the vote will hold the seat for the next five years.

Additionally, the school bond is divided into two propositions. State law requires that transportation items be listed separately. Unlike school board elections, bonds require at least 60% of the vote in order to pass. For more information on the bond, including a look at a sample ballot, please visit: https://bit.ly/3qHXMII

It is important to note that while the candidates up for election must reside in the Ward 2 boundaries, any registered voter who lives in the boundaries of the Owasso Public School District is eligible to cast a vote for the School Board seat and bond propositions on April 5.
